Run, help, meet – repeat!
There was rain, sweat and real sport satisfaction but when it comes to helping, nobody slows down! From the early morning hours (well, at least early as for the weekend) we were getting ready for Katowice Business Run, a charity race that took place in Katowice. Our tent was getting crammed up with fruit, nuts and orange accessories. Then our runners stopped by to say ‘hi!’ and the tent filled up with positive energy! Good vibes helped made the rain go away, so that our sportsmen had perfect running conditions.
We’ve been taking part in Katowice Business Run for the last 7 years and for the fourth time we’ve had the honour of being the main sponsor of the relay. Engagement and power of our teams are getting stronger and stronger with each edition. This year a record number of 195 runners, who formed 39 teams, united to help the beneficiaries of Poland Business Run Foundation. Each year we’re also surprised not only by the increasing number of participants but also by creativity in coining names of the teams. ;)
As we all know, it’s not the time that matters at Katowice Business Run but the mere fact of giving a helpful hand to others. Anyway, we took a peek at the results and would like to congratulate WymiaTech team on reaching the 28th place (out of 791 participating teams!). Guys, you rock!
We’re also happy that apart from the run itself, you supported Poland Business Run Foundation in an additional “I help more” (“Pomagam Bardziej”) action.
What is the most important in the event is the possibility of helping others. With little effort and friendly atmosphere we can do something good. The Biegowe Nieporozumienie team, along with its numerous fans, helped raise the biggest amount of money in June this year with the aid of social media platforms. I encourage all teams to take part in fund raising next year! – says Sebastian Stanisz, one of the team’s captain.
Helping others and running is a combination that is close to our hearts. Engaging in actions such as Katowice Business Run is also important for Paweł Michalik, Head of ING Tech Poland.
Helping others and teamwork have always been a part of ING Tech Poland’s DNA. Our engagement in Katowice Business Run only proves the point. Each year more and more of our employees are taking part in the run. I remember when a few years ago our company was represented by 14 teams. This year there were as many as 39 groups! It makes me really happy, especially as I’m a huge sports enthusiast who used to run in marathons myself – comments Paweł.
In my view, the greatest strength of Katowice Business Run is that it unites both the people for whom running is a part of their lives and those for whom it’s the only distance they run per year. At ING Tech Poland we treat the event as a great fun and opportunity to join forces to reach a common goal. As the main sponsor for the fourth year, we’d like to live with the message that – just like at the event - we will always do our best! – he adds.
To sum up, take a peek at the statistics that illustrate our contribution to the event. Once again – many thanks for your participation, engagement and positive energy. We look forward to the next edition! See you at the start!
