Katowice Business Run – participation is the most important

The 5 edition of Katowice Business Run is already behind us. On Sunday, 3 September 2017, despite rain and cold, 2500 people have stood on the start line to take part in the biggest charity run in Poland and, among all the participants, 120 participants were from ING Services Polska.

For the last five years, on the first Sunday of September, in the biggest cities in Poland, an exceptional relay has been taking place – the run. The income from it is intended for the purchase of prostheses for Jasiek Mela’s Poza Horyzonty foundation pupils. ING Services Polska has been involved in this initiative since its inception and for the second time in row we are one of the main sponsors.

The engagement of ING Services Polska in charitable activities is linked for good to the nature of the company. The Orange Code ING defines values and behaviours we believe in. Among them are such words as: “We are responsible” and “We help others to succeed”. These ideas are important for us to implement, also outside the business, that is why we are involved in many charity activities.

“It’s been already five years since ING Services Polska took part in Katowice Business Run, and it’s our second time as the main sponsor of this event. Year after year more employees decide to participate in this unique relay which makes me – a passionate runner - really happy.” – said Michał Paprocki, CEO at ISP.

This year, a record number of participants from our company decided to take part in the event – 120 people. Those who run in the first edition of Katowice Business Run were in this group.

“This is mine fifth start in Katowice Business Run. Every year I try to achieve better results, but the most important thing is the sole fact of participation in the relay. The noble goal of the run makes  the attendance itself matter, not the scores. I must admit that the weather conditions were pretty tough this year, but I haven’t heard anyone complaining. Every time the atmosphere is very positive and this is the most important thing.” – said Grzegorz Groborz, DevOps Expert at ISP.

We do not slow down and we are already planning our presence the next year.
